We are a team dedicated to tackling the issue of misinformation surrounding COVID-19 vaccines.
To address this problem, VaccineVerity
proposes to use data science to analyze and model the prevalence and impact of vaccine misinformation on
social media. The solution they propose includes: collecting and analyzing tweets related to COVID-19
vaccines and health-related side effects, identifying the leading conspiracy theories and their drivers,
and developing strategies to counter vaccine hesitancy and misinformation.
The research question, alternative hypothesis, and
null hypothesis provide a framework for VaccineVerity's data gathering, analysis, and modeling
efforts.
The action plan outlines the specific steps and techniques they will use to derive conclusions and
communicate the research findings.
VaccineVerity's mission is to help save lives and end the
pandemic by combating misinformation in tweets and increasing public trust in COVID-19 vaccines.
